Biography

Sophia's passion for serving and leading others in worship began at a young age, as she was heavily involved in her church community on the small island where she grew up. Her parents, who are missionaries, instilled in her a deep love for God and a desire to help others grow in their faith.

Sophia felt called to pursue a life of ministry and was ordained as a clergy member in 2019. She has a natural gift for connecting with people and helping them see the beauty and truth in God's Word. Sophia particularly enjoys officiating weddings, as she believes in the sacredness of marriage and the importance of building a strong foundation on faith.

Sophia's upbringing in the Caribbean has influenced her music style, and she has a talent for arranging hymns in a way that resonates with listeners. Her music can be found on Spotify, to listen, sing along to, or use as an accompaniment.

In addition to her music ministry, Sophia is also a facilitator for a program called Igniting Your Faith, where she helps individuals deepen their commitment to God, embrace authenticity in their faith journey, and cultivate a zeal for living out their beliefs in their everyday lives. Sophia's warm and compassionate nature, combined with her deep faith and love for others, makes her a valued leader in the Protestant Community at Brown University.

Sophia is an accomplished and energetic community-based educator, researcher, musician, and strategic planner.  She has extensive experience as a creative branding, marketing and business development consultant.  Sophia is particularly concerned with issues of empowering traditionally disenfranchised populations, irrespective of background or national origin, to become full participants in and contributors to a healthy economy.  

Sophia remains passionate about music and has recorded: Celebrating His Essence: Soulful Piano Praises (2004) and Suficiente: Enough, piano instrumental (2014). She facilitates professional development training on the following topics: The Art of Communication, Leadership in ActionExploding Cultural Dynamics and Other Stereotypes. Sophia is steadfast, tenacious and precise. She loves helping people and believes that all most people need is a little encouragement! 

Her mission is to help people fulfill their God-given destiny on this earth.
